One of the reasons for St Johnstone’s current position in the top six, goalie Clark has been in phenomenal form this season, with exploits between the sticks which are deserving of a Scotland call-up. The confidence that he gives his defence allows the rest of the team to venture further forward and hurt oppositions in the final third. He is without a doubt one of Scotland’s top goalkeepers at the minute.

They say that a captain should lead by example, and this is the epitome of what Craig Halkett is all about. A colossus at the back, his no-nonsense defending has earned him many fans over the course of the season, after he led them from the Championship before the summer. He has helped the team become a formidable force this season, especially at home, where they have achieved impressive results against some of Scottish football’s biggest sides.

STEPHEN MCGINN – ST MIRREN

There has not been much for St Mirren fans to smile about this season, but Stephen McGinn has been a shining light in the darkness. The midfielder has been a permanent fixture in the starting 11, with the captain playing the most games out of any Saints player this season. Despite having reached the later years of his career, the Hearts striker has proved this season that he still has all the qualities to be a top class forward. Not only is he the Edinburgh side’s top scorer with 14 goals, his all-round play is a great benefit to the team. His link-up play and movement has been impressive and has helped his fellow forward players excel. Despite a lengthy injury, there is no doubt that he has been a standout player so far this season.
