As we edge ever closer to the third decade of the 21st century let’s look at just some of the big names heading to Glasgow in the coming months.
Jax Jones – 21st March – O2 Academy
He’s had a string of collaborations in the charts over the last couple of years with artists including RAYE, Bebe Rexha and MNEK and Jax Jones is heading out on his biggest tour yet. Following the long-awaited release of his debut album Snacks (Supersize) one of the UK’s most underrated DJs will take to the Scottish stage for the first time in almost two years.
Dry Cleaning – 14th – February The Hug and Pint
This quartet have shared the second single off their forthcoming EP Boundary Road Snacks and Drinks (their second EP in just over 4 months), entitled Viking Hair. Fans can expect to hear their classic melodic guitar motifs ring out over an energised rhythm which is quickly becoming the group’s trademark sound. The band has also won over support from the LGBT community by raising awareness of an LGBT line dancing class based in London in the music video for Viking Hair.
Jonas Blue – 2nd March – SWG3
One of the country’s leading singer/songwriters will be dropping by the city for one of just six tour dates as part of a very special tour. With over 8 billion streams and 45 million single sales, Jonas has become a mainstage DJ within a few short years. The Blueprint tour is sure to feature his biggest hits as well as a few fresh tunes.
Kisstory presents: The Blast Off! – 8th March – The Hydro
A compilation of some of the biggest names in RnB, Hip-Hop and Garage from the 90s and early 00s is sure to get the nostalgia flowing. A tour of this format is rare these days and with names such as Nelly, Salt N Pepa, Shaggy and Fatman Scoop on the setlist it’s going to be one to remember. There is also going to be exclusive appearances from the likes of So Solids Lisa Maffia, DJ Luke 7 MC Neat as well as Sweet Female Attitude.
