The legendary red pout has been in circulation since the 1950’s and it is still as relevant and iconic today.
Finding the right shade and consistency for dark lip shades can be difficult, but once you’ve found your favourites there’s no going back. As a self-proclaimed lipstick addict, here are a few of my favourites so far this year.
The Body Shop: Matte Lip Liquid (Shade – Tahiti Hibiscus 016) £6.00
If you love the smoothness and vibrancy of a matte lip look then this product is definitely worth trying! The product itself is extremely well priced considering how strong the pigmentation is, alongside the all-day wear. You rarely need to reapply the product to your lips. What I love the most about this matte product is definitely that it doesn’t dry out your lips throughout of the day, you can remain worry free whilst knowing that its perfectly in place. (Also it is 100% cruelty free!)
Mac: Cremesheen Lipstick (Shade – Hang-Up) £16.50
Personally, the Mac ‘cremesheen’ collection of lipsticks is one of my all-time favourites. What’s not to love about a creamy texture and a buildable colour that leaves a glossy finish on the lips! Although quite pricy – this would be perfect for a cosy winter day out or even as a bold statement lip for a night out during the festive period. The quality is amazing and leaves lips feeling hydrated and moisturised, almost like a lip-balm, perfect for these cold months!
Rimmel: Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss (Shade – 111) £4.88
Rimmel are definitely one of the best high street makeup brands around and that definitely goes to show with their lipstick collaboration with Kate Moss. All of her lipstick shades are amazing but recently I haven’t stopped wearing shade 111. The lipstick itself is a mixture of both a bright red and underlying berry tones, this lipstick is an essential for your winter make-up bag!
Trouble with the lasting wear of your lipstick? Why not try Lipcote Lipstick Sealer (£3.69) – this product instantly seals your lipstick meaning it stays in place all day. Definitely worth a shot!
