Beauty on a Budget

Looking after yourself is one of the most important things, but it shouldn’t have to break the bank. There are plenty of products out there that work wonders with different formulas and magical wonders without making your purse cry. Here are the top favourites that I think you should invest in.

Garnier Micellar Make-up Remover – £2.99

This is a staple in my skincare routine. Not only does this remove my makeup but it can be used in the mornings as a cleanser because it leaves the skin feeling soft and refreshed. It removes dirt without irritating the skin. A little bit on a cotton pad goes a long way, so you don’t have constantly stock up either.

Lush Ultrabland – £8.25

From first impression, this product does not look like anything special, but this little black pot performs miracles. The formula is made from almond oil, beeswax, honey, rosewater and iris flower extract to create an oil based balm. It does feel weird when first touching it but as soon as you use it with a hot flannel it melts into your skin. You are left with a soft complexion and a oily sensation that doesn’t clog your pores. It is a must have.

Lacura Range Aldi – various prices

Aldi have brought out a range of skincare and make-up that is heavily inspired on big make-up products for a fraction of the price. One of my favourites from the range is the facial wipes. They are a replica for the Simple make up remover wipes and they do the exact same job. There are lines to suit all skin types and won’t cost more than £8. It is perfect for saving those pennies.

Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo – £4.19

This shampoo is great for damaged and dry hair. As someone who always dyes their hair because going to the hairdresser’s is too expensive. This leaves the hair feeling nourished and silky smooth with the Australian Macadamia nut oil in the product. It helps with keeping your hair grease-free for longer. You do need a lot of this product to work as it does not lather up easily.

The Body Shop Hemp Foot Cream – £11.00

Students are always on their feet from walking to classes, travelling to and from university and working part-time. This heavy-duty foot cream keeps your feet soft and prevents any rough skin from forming. It is infused with hemp seed oil to enrich the feet and keep them soft. It may be labelled as a foot cream, but the product works well on your legs. Just be prepared for the rich scent that the cream leaves. The best way to use this product is to apply a good portion on your feet covering the product with a pair of socks before you go to bed.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream -£12.99

The texture of this product is different to usual moisturising creams. It is a water-gel base that contains a Hyaluronic Gel Matrix to give your face an intense hydration. The lightweight oil-free cream sinks right into your skin leaving no greasy residue behind. It is best to use this cream with a light moisturiser afterwards to prevent a matt finish, but after using it every day for a week your skin will thank you.
