The Farewell – September 20th
Do you tell your dying grandmother about her fate or do you lie as to not “ruin her mood”? Awkwafina takes on a career-defining role as Billi in Lulu Wang’s film based on a true story about a cross-cultural journey of a Chinese-American woman. You’ll laugh and you’ll defininitely cry.
The Goldfinch – September 27th
The Pulitzer Prize-winning story by Donna Tartt is brought to life by Brooklyn (2015) director John Crowley. Theo is taken in by a rich Upper East Side family following a tragedy that leaves the thirteen-year-old without a mother. What follows is an intricate, suspensful and unforgettable story of survival.
Joker – October 4th
Is there anything Juaquin Phoenix can’t do? We’re about to find out. In one of the most anticipated blockbusters this fall, the Hangover Trilogy director Todd Phillips has set out to deliver a truly cinematic experience by taking daily risks on set.
The Lighthouse – October 18th
A black and white film about two lighthouse keepers at the turn of the 19th century played by Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe? Sold. TV & chill
Rick & Morty
The long-awaited season 4 of Justin Roiland’s and Dan Harmon’s hilarious animated series about a crazy scientist and his adolescent grandkid is set to arrive in November, making those shorter days just a little bit brighter. Unlike previous seasons, the show will air exclusively on Channel 4.
Bojack Horseman
Although no official release date is set for the sixth season of this Netflix original, the show is confirmed to be back this year for yet another batch of darkly funny and at times just plain heavy storytelling.
Atypical
Make sure to catch up with the last two seasons of this brilliant show before season 3 arrives to Netflix this fall. Quirky without trying too hard, funny without losing its sincere portrayal of autism, this family-orientated show is the ultimate feel-good TV.
