Maison De Moggy, Cat Café: Review

As a self-confessed cat lover, I was excited to hear about Maison De Moggy, a new cat cafe opening in Edinburgh on January 18th and decided it would make the perfect not-too-cheesy romantic day out.

The idea behind a cat café is that you can book an hour or two in advance to come in for a cup of good coffee or tea and a cake with the company of some of the sweetest and most well trained cats in Scotland.

The café is set up to be both cat and customer friendly, with comfortable couches to relax on as well as tables and chairs to enjoy tea and cakes. The staff and ‘cat nannies’ are very friendly and make sure you’re comfortable and enjoying yourself, while also ensuring the welfare of the felines. There are small cat houses built into the walls for sleepy kitties, along with a central climbing area built into a pillar for the pets to play in.

The cosy area downstairs is cushy, and has low lighting to relax in – ideal for chilled out cuddles with Amelie the kitten. In fact, all the Maison De Moggy kitty residents were very friendly and playful. Most of them were in a lazy mood due to the sunshine so I received lots of furry feline cuddles!

The cats all have suave French names, and are each beautiful in different ways. They all have their own profile on the Maison De Moggy website, so you can see the classy characters you’re dealing with, but it also provides information on bookings, and allows you to check out any allergy issues ahead of your visit.

I had a wonderful visit and would recommend it to any fellow cat lovers who want to relax and play with some adorable cats.
