Eleanor Conway delivers an absolute cracker of a show. I fully confess to having near spat my drink out at least twice as the punchlines hit their mark. The show itself is insightful, hilarious and crude, as Eleanor discusses familiar subjects such as dating and mental health but breathes new life into them by providing her own unique liberated experience.
The narrative given through her fast-paced anecdotes are hilarious as they are well executed. The performance given was very well rounded with no opportunity being lost in terms of physicality and expression when delivering set ups and punchlines. This was no throwing together of routines but instead a frank and at times emotional account of one woman’s experience of relationships (or lack of) in which Eleanor seems very comfortable both having the audience up for a right good laugh but also in more sombre moments, especially as the show ends.
I missed her show last year entitled “Walk of Shame” in Edinburgh, so I’m delighted this one didn’t elude me. If you like your humour raw, punchy and clever go and see this impressive hour of comedy.
